Who we are

Kentucky Plumbing HQ (“we”, “us”) operates kentuckyplumbinghq.com and the telephone line (844) 924-3770. We are a referral service: we connect homeowners in Kentucky with independent, licensed plumbing businesses. We are not a plumbing contractor and we do not perform plumbing work.

What we collect

Only what a referral needs.

When you call: your name, the phone number you are calling from, the service address or town, and a description of the plumbing problem. If you volunteer an email address we keep that too.
When you email: your email address and whatever is in your message.
When you browse: standard server and analytics data, IP address, approximate city-level location, browser and device type, the pages you viewed, and the page that referred you.

We do not collect payment card details, bank details, or Social Security numbers. We never ask for them, and no legitimate plumber will ask for them before work is agreed.

How we use it

To work out what is wrong and which plumbing businesses are equipped and licensed to attend your address.
To pass your request to the plumbing business we refer you to, so they can contact you and attend.
To follow up on quality, whether the plumber turned up, and whether you were treated fairly.
To understand which parts of this site are useful, in aggregate.
To meet legal obligations and to investigate misuse of the service.

We do not use your details for unrelated marketing, and we do not sell your personal information to data brokers or lead aggregators.

The plumbing business we refer you to. This is the point of the service. They receive your name, contact number, address and the description of the problem. Once they have it they are an independent controller of that information and their own privacy practices apply.
Service providers who run our telephone system, email and website hosting, and website analytics, strictly to provide those services to us.
Where required by law, a court order, a lawful request from an authority, or to protect someone from harm.

We refer each request to one plumbing business at a time. We do not broadcast it to a panel of contractors who then compete to call you.

Calls and call recording

Calls to (844) 924-3770 may be monitored or recorded for quality and training. Where a recording is made you will be told at the start of the call, and you may ask us not to record. Kentucky is a one-party consent state; we still tell you.

By calling us, or by giving us your number, you agree that we and the plumbing business we refer you to may contact you at that number about your request, including by text where you have asked us to. That consent is not a condition of any purchase, and you can withdraw it at any time by telling us, or by replying STOP to a text.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies: the ones needed to make pages work, and aggregate analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. We do not run advertising retargeting pixels on this site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

How long we keep it

Referral records are kept for 24 months, which is long enough to deal with a warranty question or a complaint about work. Call recordings are kept for 90 days. Aggregate analytics are kept indefinitely because they no longer identify anyone. After those periods we delete or anonymise.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy;
correct anything inaccurate;
delete your details, unless we are required to keep them;
stop contacting you.

Email privacy@kentuckyplumbinghq.com or call (844) 924-3770. We will respond within 30 days and we will not charge you or treat you differently for asking. To have details removed from the plumbing business we referred you to, contact them directly as well, they hold their own copy.

Children

This service is for homeowners and tenants dealing with plumbing. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe we have, tell us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. Material changes to how we share information will be described here rather than made quietly.
